Membranes
Immersive space
Environmental installation for:
Commission:
Membranes is an immersive environment developed by Beat.per:frame collective.
The project, commissioned by Ordine degli Architetti e Paesaggisti delle province di Parma e Piacenza and Fondazione Architetti Parma e Piacenza was displayed, for the first time, at Lights/out Pasubio, urban laboratory aimed at recovering abandoned area of Via Pasubio.
The ephemeral architecture consists of a parallel series of 12 back-projected organdy walls.
It extends to the center of the space, generating a massive perception of visual and sound pulses received inside.
The visual cycle is divided into three acts constantly repeated, inspired by the Opus alchemicum:
Nigredo:
Black, crow, chaos, loneliness, anguish, source, number.
Albedo:
White, moon, purity, energy, creativity, symbol, sound.
Rubedo:
Red, fire, wedding, completeness, flower, world, word.
